Second Edit

In this second edit I used a variety of different shots to start creating a narrative and performance side to my piece. I have started to explore the use of distorted footage and jump shots to create this broken filming pattern where the shots jump back and forth, these shots are the main thing that I focused on during this editing session with the addition of the lip-syncing clips later on in the video although not in the right place. I used a filter over the two longer jump shot sections, the first one has a filter called Sci-Fi which creates this green tinge to the fog and my character making it spookier. The second filter I used was on the panning down the character section, this filter was called blast and it puts this cool colourful effect over my shot to give it a creepy feel.

First Stage Of Editing

This is the first edit that I have created for my music video, as you can see here I have used a continuous shot with a small amount of lip-syncing from the filming day (25th November). In this video you can see the small space created for the girls reality/ prison with her in her final evil form singing to the song with the axe after having illegibly smashed the TV. The slight tracking on this shot helps to give it movement and pace and to give an extra dimension to the room. As this was the only shot uploaded it doesn't show the full scale of what  would like to have started doing in my first edit but it does show the quality of the piece that will be produced.

The obvious feedback from this first edit was to include more shots and add some of the narrative aspects to the song, this would help me to make the music video more interesting as well as keeping up the pace. It was also suggested that I use a downloaded version of the song for lip-syncing rather than the background noise from the filming days to improve the overall quality of my piece.
